Culinary stars to mourn closing of Gourmet magazine at New York City chefs' 'gathering'
Some culinary stars are gathering to mourn the death of an old friend — Gourmet magazine.
Celebrity chefs including Emeril Lagasse and Eric Ripert are expected Sunday at the fifth annual "Great Gathering of Chefs."
A "golden fork" will be presented to the staff of Gourmet.
Conde Nast announced that it is closing the magazine after the November issue.
The "gathering of chefs" is also a promotion for food photographer Alan Batt.
